What is an Independent Reading Assignment?

Independent Reading is our most flexible assignment format. 


It gives teachers the flexibility to have students read any text. Students can record themselves reading a paperback, textbook or handout — without a teacher having to first upload that text into Readlee.

This feature is designed for two primary scenarios:

1) Texts that are difficult to upload to Readlee, such as content from a paper textbook you use in class

2) Independent reading (hence the name!) where teachers have students reading content of their choice (yes! students don't need to be reading the same text with this flexible assignment format!)
